This year, we had the privilege of redesigning the website for Peaceful Waters Aquamation in San Diego, California. Having worked on their previous site, we wanted to create a more modern, serene, and user-friendly digital experience for pet owners seeking compassionate end-of-life care for their beloved animals.

Concept and Design Vision

The goal of the redesign was to capture the calm, respectful, and caring nature of Peaceful Waters' services through both visual and conceptual elements:

  • Serene Color Palette: Soft blues and gentle neutrals evoke a sense of peace and trust, reflecting the tranquility of the aquamation process.

  • Clean, Minimal Layout: White space is used intentionally to reduce visual clutter, allowing visitors to focus on the information they need during an emotional time.

  • Natural Imagery: Subtle water-inspired textures and imagery convey the environmentally conscious and natural process of aquamation, connecting the service to its eco-friendly roots.

  • Intuitive Navigation: A simplified menu and clear calls-to-action ensure users can quickly access service details, pricing, and scheduling forms without confusion.

Enhancements and Features

  • Responsive Design: The site performs seamlessly across mobile, tablet, and desktop devices, providing a comforting experience no matter how visitors access it.

  • Service Transparency: Each service — private aquamation, expedited services, or paw preservation — is clearly explained with supporting visuals and concise copy.

  • Emotional Support Integration: Links to free grief support services from local partners are highlighted subtly, maintaining a compassionate tone while offering critical resources.

  • Streamlined Forms: Online scheduling and authorization forms make the process easier for grieving pet owners.

Sustainability Through Design

Beyond aesthetics, the redesign emphasizes Peaceful Waters’ commitment to the environment:

  • Icons and infographics subtly illustrate how aquamation is eco-friendly, using significantly less energy than traditional cremation.

  • Messaging is crafted to educate visitors without overwhelming them, blending visual storytelling with clear content.
